Understand Mobile Web Development

Mobile web development is an important concept that can be influential in the success of your online business. You required a responsive theme for this. A responsive theme uses a combination of a fluid layout and media queries to make the layout and content different on different-sized devices. It doesn't just work for mobile web development; responsive themes can change the look of a site on tablets or on really large screens, too.

Responsive design - Important Concepts
To get to grips with a responsive design, you'll need to understand the following web development concepts:
Fluid layout: This is a site layout that uses percentages for widths instead of pixels. The effect of this is that when the browser window changes width, so does the site.

Media queries: We use media queries to add extra changes to the CSS for devices of a particular width. The widths most commonly targeted are:

Mobile devices such as smart phones: These are 320px wide and 480px high, which means the width of the screen, will change when the device is turned around. It is imperative to note this before you get started with mobile web development.

Tablet devices: These vary in size but the screen on the iPad, which is by far the most commonly used, is 768px wide by 1024px high. Other tablets such as the Kindle Fire will be smaller.

Desktop computers: Their width ranges from 1024px and above. It's common to set a maximum width for our layout so that on very large screens (for example, over 1200px), the site doesn't lay out so far that it makes the content difficult to read.

Download Shush!

Are you sophisticated? Great application for you now! It’s really a nice apps for class, the office, movies and sleep. It’s one of the best Android apps of 2012.

Yes I am talking about Shush! — Shush! is different from other phone silencers. You can set Shush! to shut your smartphone’s volume off for an allotted time. After the allotted time is up, Shush! will turn your smartphone’s volume to whatever you like. When you set the timer you can also set the volume you’d like it turn to after the timer is complete. Those who are in meeting or are going to movie can turn Shush! On for how long the meeting/movie lasts and have their smartphone automatically turn back to previous volume settings. Quite a handy tool.

When you turn your ringer off for a movie, this app turns it back on afterwards. It's activated when you silence your ringer using the volume buttons. You don't need to remember a special app! Once your ringer is off, it asks you how long to stay silent. Never miss another important call.

Try download this application for your Android phone and if you find any problem try launching it manually first.

Importance of Database Mobile Application

It is the client or the customer who runs the business and not the business owner. A deeper insight would reveal that the data pertaining to these customers is very crucial for the business. The data related to other aspects of business management are equally important. If you want your business to be successful and run as desired towards achieving the set goals, the data base is an indispensable element.

Accesses to the data:
It is known that data can be stored either in a local storage device or an external server. Optimum efficiency of the mobile application is possible when it pertains to local data storage rather than external server. For a mobile application accessing a data from local data storage is easy. Moreover, the application is least concerned with the network connection. Mobile applications of this kind are very quick and make the user feel very comfortable.

The only weak point of mobile applications is that the designing and implementing part are very complex. A mobile application cannot work in isolation forever. There needs to be some exchange of data at one time or another between the application and the source of data. The data in the application has to be regularly updated and this becomes difficult especially when the application is not having any network connection. It usually takes more skills and longer time to develop mobile database applications.

Costing:
The mobile database applications have proved to be much cheaper than the online applications that depend on the browser for data. The dependency of the mobile data application is very limited while in case of online application the data is constantly sent and received between the server and the data storage device. One may feel that the cost of mobile database application is higher just because of the higher upfront cost but in the longer run it proves to be much affordable.

Applications For Busy Smartphone Users

Are you a busy Smartphone user? And also you are not able to manage your professional and personal life? Then keep following free applications in your Smartphone’s and live your life with ease:

Viggle (Free)
You no longer need to feel guilty about wasting the day away curled up on the couch watching television. With the Viggle iPhone app, you can get compensated from the likes of Amazon.com, Starbucks and the Gap merely for watching and checking in to many of your favorite programs. Viggle uses audio recognition technology similar to what is found in apps like IntoNow and Shazam to do much of the work for you. Just sit back and appreciate that you are getting rewarded for doing absolutely nothing.

Brewster (Free)
Keeping track of all your contacts across email, telephone numbers and social networks is challenging. Brewster is an uber contact management tool that syncs to your iPhone’s contact list, but also Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Gmail and Foursquare. The app has a simple and visually striking interface that showcases the images and names of your contacts as you scroll across the screen. Brewster will automatically determine your “Favorites” based on activity, and lets you easily search for contacts or create your own distinct lists.

Songza (Free)
Music streaming services like Pandora, Slacker and Spotify are changing the ways in which we consume music. Rather than listening to albums or pre-programmed playlists, we now have access to entire “stations” on our computers and mobile devices built around our favorite artists and songs. This year, the Songza app added a decidedly human touch to this kind of algorithmic-driven music curation with a major update that showcases playlists created for particular moods or times of day. Songza’s “Music Concierge” selections range from weekday “Office Crowd Pleasers”, to “Reading the Paper” on Sunday morning, to “Putting on Your Party Dress” on Friday night. You can also locate playlists built around most major bands and musical genres. Best of all, even after hundreds of hours of happy listening, I still haven’t heard an ad on the free service!

Smartphones And Applications

Industry statistics show that the number of people using smartphones is now at 60% and rising. Predictions show that by the year 2015, 90% of mobile users in developed countries will have a smartphone.

Types of apps developed
Due to the popularity of smartphones, software developers have emerged with ideas for app development for both everyday use and business. These smartphone apps have a variety of life application including money and financial management, management solutions and business planning, blogging and networking, advertisement, multimedia file sharing, GPS applications, leisure and entertainment, and educational purposes. Some of the most common applications of this nature are android business app and iPhone business app. Large and small companies can use these devices to link up with their clients to provide information and offer their services and products.

Development tools & Challenges
Currently, mobile app developers and software development companies have all the vital development tools to build top of the line smartphone solutions and offer users a rich mobile experience. With the constant growth of smartphone app market, it has now become normal business practice particularly for consumer goods, the media, food companies and automotive companies to build their own mobile applications to reach the public and clients in a new, fresh way. Both developers and publishers who focus on mobile app development come across various challenges including:

Reach fragmentation- Since market fragmentation is increasing, it is no longer enough for the mobile applications to adapt to one platform. To reach a wide target as possible, companies should consider multi-platform development. The companies should also settle on what platforms to begin with and how many to develop.

High cost- Development of smartphone is costly especially those that involve complex designs and procedures. Companies should consider developing the apps in-house rather than outsourcing to reduce cost and to better oversea the project.

Unmeasured risk- Most middle-sized or small companies have never published an application before hence do not have any idea of what the challenges might be like. It is logical then that these companies opt for ready-made solutions that have already been tested on the market. Developing just a simple smartphone app can take several months while complex and multi-platform apps can even take a year. The process is even slower when performed by developers from emerging markets.
